Marc Marquez sets pace for Czech Grand Prix

BRNO, Czech Republic (AP) — Defending world champion Marc Marquez had the fastest lap in practice for the Czech Grand Prix on Friday.

The Spaniard, who dominates the MotoGP championship this season, covered the Brno circuit in 1 minute, 56.803 seconds.

Another Spaniard, Jorge Lorenzo, finished second in 1:1:56.840, and Marquez's Honda teammate, Dani Pedrosa, was third in 1:56.855.

After winning all 10 previous MotoGP races, Marquez heads the overall standings with 250 points, followed by Pedrosa with 161, and Valentino Rossi with 157.

Qualifying is scheduled for Saturday and the race is on Sunday.
