Marble Falls prepares for influx of people ahead of eclipse

MARBLE FALLS, Texas (KXAN) — Preparations are underway in the Hill Country as thousands of people are expected to arrive for the eclipse.

At the Bluebonnet Cafe they are expecting more business and more pie orders with more people coming to Marble Falls.

”Lemon Meringue, coconut meringue , chocolate meringue,” said owner Dave Plante. ”Getting ready for this weekend. It is going to be pretty crazy in town with the eclipse.”

Plante said they made eclipse T-shirts and hats, and many people have been buying them. They also made sure to stock up on pie supplies in the kitchen.

“We’ve got everything primed and ready to go back there, and we are going to make them as fast as we can and sell as many as we can,” Plante said.

Tucker Edwards and his family live in Marble Falls and have already seen things getting busier.

He tells KXAN his last stop at the local H-E-B was more crowded than usual and they were out of some products.

”From what we have seen in town with the traffic to what we saw in H-E-B yesterday, things are tracking to be as busy from what they think they are going to be,” said Edwards.

Despite some of the aisles being empty H-E-B tells KXAN there is no product supply issues. They went on to say their stores are well prepared and receiving regular shipments.
