Manvel, N.D., woman crowned 'Mrs. North Dakota America'

Sep. 4—Alexandra Lunseth of Manvel, N.D., was crowned Mrs. North Dakota America 2021 during the North Dakota state pageant Sunday, Aug. 29, at the Empire Arts Center.

Other winners were McKenzie Blumhagen, Harvey, N.D., Mrs. North Dakota American 2021; Laura Kleihauer, Bismarck, Miss North Dakota for America Strong 2021; Emma Jo Korynta, Stephen, Minn., Junior Teen Miss for North Dakota 2021; Sawyer Belcourt, Bottineau, N.D., Junior Miss for North Dakota 2021; and Rorie Christenson, Grand Forks, Little Miss for North Dakota 2021.

Other contestants were: Alyssa Eppen, Jamestown, N.D.; Misty Ibach, Fargo; Kira Mecham, Warsaw, N.D.; Monroe Shockman, Crookston; Senica Belcourt, Bottineau, N.D.; Sofia Mecham, Warsaw, N.D.; and Astrid Helmeke, Park River, N.D.

Winners were crowned by the outgoing queens, Mrs. North Dakota America 2020 Amy Longtin; Mrs. North Dakota American 2020 Anne Marie Studer, and Miss North Dakota for America Strong 2020 Shawnee Kaseman.

The North Dakota state pageants are owned and directed by Michael and Meg Morley of Grand Forks. They are co-directors of the Mrs. North Dakota America, the Mrs. North Dakota American, and the Miss North Dakota for America Strong pageants. Sunday's pageant was produced by Forevermorley Productions, LLC.

Mrs. North Dakota America, Mrs. North Dakota American, and Miss North Dakota for America Strong will all go on to compete at the Mrs. America, Mrs. American, and Miss for America Strong pageants to be held Nov. 18-20 in Las Vegas.

The ladies will compete at national competitions — as they did at state — in the areas of interview, state costume, swimsuit, and evening gown.

Other awards presented at Sunday's pageant event: Queen of Queens 2021 — AnneMarie Studer; Director's Choice 2021 and Congeniality 2021 — McKenzie Blumhagen; Photogenic 2021, State Costume 2021 and Evening Gown 2021 — Senica Belcourt; Active Wear 2021 — Rorie Christenson; Swimsuit 2021 — Alexandra Lunseth; and Interview 2021 — Laura Kleihauer.

Forevermorley Productions, LLC, is seeking applicants for local titleholders to compete in the various North Dakota state pageants planned for Aug. 28, 2022, Meg Morley said.
