KANSAS CITY, Kan. — A window and door manufacturer will build a new $76.5 million facility in Kansas City, Kansas, bringing 600 jobs to the area.

Kansas Gov. Laura Kelly announced Thursday that Marvin will open a 400,000-square-foot manufacturing facility at the Scannell 435 Logistics Center, site of the former Woodlands racetrack.

“Marvin’s investment emphasizes that my administration’s approach to attracting business into our state is working,” Kelly said in a release. “We are delivering on our commitment to making Kansas the best place to live, work, and raise a family.”

Marvin hopes to have the new space completed in 2025, employing about 100 people full time by that point. By 2028, Marvin expects to employ a 600-person workforce in the area.

“Marvin has been on a significant growth trajectory over the past six years,” Marvin CEO and Chair of the Board Paul Marvin said. “Investing in additional facilities not only is strategic for continued growth but also will help meet current and anticipated short-term demand in the marketplace.”

The governor’s office said Marvin researched locations across multiple states before selecting KCK. Kelly said a strong workforce, economic development and more contributed to the decision.

After opening the KCK facility, the family-owned company will operate in 17 cities across North America, including a 2 million-square-foot campus in Minnesota.

“I am excited to have a well-respected and established company such as Marvin choose Kansas to expand their business,” KCK Mayor Pro Tem Tom Burroughs said.
