Man's SUV Tires Stolen, Gets Parking Ticket Anyway
A Chicago couple were having a bad morning when they woke up to find their SUV on cinder blocks after its tires had been stolen in the middle of the night. Their bad luck didn’t stop there as they were later given a parking ticket for not moving their car for the street cleaner.
According to the car owner’s wife, the 2011 GMC Denali was parked by the owner at approximately 10:40 p.m. the night before, which means the tires were stolen between midnight and 7 a.m. The car owner didn’t realize what had happened until the family’s nanny noticed the car’s wheels were missing at around 7 a.m.. The car owner then filed a police report and was assured by a police officer that writing a note with the police report number and placing it on the car would avoid them any tickets, the owner’s wife said. You know how that ended.
The owner’s wife, who wanted to remain anonymous out of fear of repercussions said, “It's usually something you see in movies. It's crazy. I can't believe it happened.”
