Manitowoc County 100+ Women Who Care's next Giving Circle is May 6

MANITOWOC — The next Manitowoc County 100+ Women Who Care (MC100+WWC) Giving Circle will meet May 6 at Sepia Chapel, 1820 Jefferson St., Two Rivers.

Registration and social start will at 5:30 p.m., and the meeting will begin promptly at 6:30 p.m.

Three local nonprofits will be chosen to speak, followed by a question-and-answer session.

During balloting, Boys & Girls Club of Manitowoc County will share how it has used previous gift money from MC100+WWC.

Following the announcement of the night’s Giving Circle award recipient, a celebratory social will follow with food, fun and fellowship, including a photo booth provided by Sepia Chapel.                          .

MC100+WWC says it is always looking for new members and new nonprofits to be awarded money. The MC100+WWC has been nominated for the second consecutive year for Progress Lakeshore’s Community Enhancement Award.

In the past three years, the group has assisted more than 12 nonprofits with awards of more than $10,000. The largest award reached more than $17,000.

The dollar amount given continues to grow, thanks to members and contributions from organizations such as The Neshotah Charitable Foundation in Manitowoc and the Richard M. Schulze Family Foundation in Minneapolis.

February’s Giving Circle recipient was Manitowoc’s Treehouse Theater, a nonprofit that provides theater educational classes and performance opportunities for kids ages 6-18 through its 910 Washington St. location.

MC100+WWTC is aiming to reach a goal of giving $20,000 per quarter to local vetted nonprofits. Individuals, corporations, foundations and additional nonprofits are encouraged to help the group reach that goal.
