Manitoba's Jones beats B.C.'s Scott in battle of former Scotties champions

KINGSTON, Ont. - Manitoba's Jennifer Jones defeated British Columbia's Kelly Scott 10-4 this morning in a battle of former champions at the Scotties Tournament of Hearts.

Jones led 3-1 after three ends and pulled ahead with three points in the fifth.

She improved to 2-0 with the victory.

Jones is a four-time national women's curling champion while Scott, who fell to 1-1, has won the title on two occasions.

Defending champion Heather Nedohin edged Nova Scotia's Mary-Anne Arsenault 7-6, Ontario's Rachel Homan topped Alberta's Kristie Moore 9-5 and Saskatchewan's Jill Shumay dumped Quebec's Allison Ross 12-5.

Two more draws are scheduled for later in the day at the K-Rock Centre. Round-robin play continues through Friday with the playoffs set for next weekend.
