Mandeville falls to Denham Springs in Division I Non-Select semi-finals

HAMMOND, La — Denham Springs defeated Mandeville, 46-39 Thursday night in the Division I Non-Select semi-final round at Southeastern Louisiana University’s Pride Roofing University Center.

The Skippers played from behind the first 25 minutes of regulation, and managed to tie the game at 32 with 6:16 left in the 4th quarter on a Saleigh Berry three pointer.

Denham Springs would respond seconds later in the form of a Taylor Smith triple that would allow the Yellow Jackets to regain the lead, 35-32.

Mandeville would continue to battle, and with 4:48 left on the clock, a Hannah Benoit and-one would give the Skippers their first lead of the game, 37-35.

Denham Springs would answer once again with a three pointer from Reagan White and the Yellow Jackets would never trail again.

Mandeville shot just 29.8% (14/47) from the field, and 17.8% (4/23) from three.

Hannah Benoit led the Skippers with a 12-point, 11 rebound double-double. Younger sister, Alanna, followed with 12 points, 8 rebounds, and 5 steals. Saleigh Berry added 10 points in the loss.
