SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — One of the most popular soccer teams in the world will be returning to San Diego for the second time in less than a year.

Manchester United, who is a winner of a record 20 Premier League titles, will play LaLiga’s Real Betis in a match at Snapdragon Stadium on July 31, stadium officials announced in a press release Tuesday.

Both teams will start their first team squads. Spectators will be able to see stars like England’s Marcus Rashford and Portugal’s Bruno Fernandes on the pitch for United, while Spain’s Isco Alarcon, World Cup champions Nabil Fekir, German Pezzella and Guido Rodriguez, and U.S. Men’s National Team midfielder Johnny Cardoso represent Real Betis.

“It is exciting to work with Manchester United again in San Diego after a successful opening Snapdragon Cup in 2023 in front of a sell-out crowd,” Group CEO of TEG Geoff Jones said about the event his company is promoting. “Real Betis of La Liga will create a fantastic second edition of the Snapdragon Cup and it i’s sure to be an enthralling game. Tickets sold out quickly last year and we expect tickets to sell fast again in a passionate soccer city like San Diego.”

Manchester United last played at Snapdragon Stadium in July when Wrexham AFC beat them 3-1.

Pre-sale tickets will become available on Wednesday at 10 a.m., while tickets for the general public go on sale Thursday at 9 a.m. Register for tickets here.

This summer will be the fourth time Manchester United and Real Betis play each other in more than 100 years.
