Manchester man charged with tipping over porta-potty, trapping mom and child inside

May 10—A city teen faces multiple charges after allegedly knocking over a porta-potty with a mother and her young daughter inside, covering both in human waste, Manchester police said.

On Wednesday, Manchester police received a call from a young mother reporting she and her 4-year-old daughter had been trapped inside a porta-potty at Derryfield Park after a man pushed it from behind.

"The pair reported being covered in feces and bodily fluids," police said in a release.

Officers responded and spoke with witnesses who said the man and woman had been arguing near the porta-potty, and when the woman went inside to help her daughter, the man allegedly pushed it over.

The portable toilet landed with the door on the pavement, trapping them inside, police said. Bystanders ran over and got the overturned toilet upright again, freeing the pair.

The mother and child were not hurt, and police say they don't believe the victims and suspect knew each other.

Police identified the suspect as 18-year-old Aiden Studer of Manchester. He was arrested and charged with two counts of criminal restraint and criminal mischief. He was later charged with simple assault (on a police officer) for allegedly throwing something at one of the responding officers, police said.
