Sharon Coolidge here. As the Cincinnati City Hall reporter, I’m continuing to report on the sale of the Cincinnati Southern Railway to Norfolk Southern, a $1.6 billion deal that is set to be finalized in mid-March.

On Wednesday, the board that oversees the city-owned railroad is set to interview five firms that made it to the shortlist to manage that money. I offer a look at why these firms are in contention and what the board is looking for in the firm that is ultimately hired.
