Man wounded in early morning Pines Village shooting

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — A man was hospitalized following a shooting in the Pines Village neighborhood on Wednesday, April 3.

Officers with the New Orleans Police Department said at 6:15 a.m., they were called to investigate a shooting in the 4700 block of Francis Drive.

NOPD discusses data reporting error for special victims division statistics

An investigation revealed a man was sitting in his vehicle at the location when he heard shots fired. Officers say after the man realized he had been struck, he drove himself to the hospital.

The man was listed to be in stable condition.

Further details weren’t released. The NOPD is in the process of gathering evidence and information to determine a possible suspect and motive.
