Man wanted on weapons count faces drug charges after arrest in Blakely

Jul. 1—A Blakely man wanted in Lehigh County for illegal possession of a firearm faces drug charges after investigators found a large cache of heroin and paraphernalia in his Peckville section apartment, state police said.

Robert Jarvis, 31, was taken into custody Thursday in the parking lot of Pop Pop's Mini Mart in Peckville by the Dunmore-based state police Troop R Vice/Intelligence Unit, which worked with several other agencies on the investigation.

After establishing probable cause that Jarvis was in possession of a large quantity of heroin/fentanyl at his home at 477 Bodnick St., Apt. 6, investigators obtained a search warrant for the residence, police said.

A search of the apartment found 900 bags of heroin/fentanyl, more than two ounces of raw heroin/fentanyl, over 12,000 heroin packaging bags and $950 in cash, police said.

State police said Jarvis, also known as Simba Golden, would be charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance as a result of the search. His arraignment information was not immediately available.

In the meantime, he was jailed in Lackawanna County Prison on an unrelated probation violation while awaiting transfer to Lehigh County, where he has an active felony warrant for prohibited possession of a firearm, police said.

State police said the vice/intelligence unit worked jointly with the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force, Lackawanna County detectives, Blakely police and Lackawanna County Probation to apprehend Jarvis.
