Man suspected in Las Vegas double murder case arrested in California

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) – A man facing open murder charges after two women were shot in Las Vegas was arrested in California on Monday, according to police.

Jason Robert Manuel, 43, was identified by Las Vegas Metropolitan police detectives as the suspect in the shooting death of two women in the east valley on March 5.

On April 1, California law enforcement took Manuel to the Riverside County Jail where he is awaiting extradition to Las Vegas.

On March 5, Las Vegas Metro police responded to a call after receiving multiple reports of a shooting in the 5000 block of East Tropicana Avenue near Nellis Boulevard. When officers arrived they found two women and one man suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. The two women were later pronounced dead, and the man had non-life-threatening wounds, according to police.

Detectives later learned that a man on a bike shot the three victims in a parking lot as he rode past them, police said.
