Man suffers life-threatening injuries in hit-and-run crash in Rochester

A pedestrian was seriously injured early Tuesday morning in a hit-and-run crash on East Main Street in Rochester, according to police.

Emergency responders were called to East Main Street, near Scio Street, where they found a man in his 20s laying on the road around 3:45 a.m., said Capt. Ryan Tauriello of the Rochester Police Department. It appeared that a vehicle struck the man there and the driver fled the scene in the involved vehicle, he said.

The pedestrian was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital with life-threatening injuries. His name was not released.

Anyone with information about the crash is asked to call 911.
