DC police arrest man for stabbing in Northeast

WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) said a man was stabbed in Northeast D.C. on Wednesday afternoon.

Police said that at about 1:20 p.m., officers responded to a report of a stabbing at A and 7th streets.

The suspect and victim got into a fight and the suspect pepper sprayed the victim which resulted in a physical struggle, MPD said. During that, the suspect stabbed the victim.

MPD said the victim was conscious and breathing when officers arrived and he was treated at the scene.

Responding officers arrested 26-year-old Sebastian Gustav Fonseca-Gomez of Northeast, D.C., and a knife was found at the scene.

He was charged with assault with a dangerous weapon.
