Man stabbed by Amazon delivery driver during argument

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – A man was injured after allegedly being stabbed by an Amazon delivery driver during an argument at a Madison apartment complex.

According to the Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD), officers responded to the incident around 7:45 p.m. Tuesday, April 16 at a condo located in the 400 block of Churchill Crossing.

Officials said a preliminary investigation indicates that a 42-year-old Amazon delivery driver was delivering a package to a condo, but the recipient wasn’t home so the package was not delivered.

While the Amazon driver was standing beside his van to make an entry on an electronic pad to note the unsuccessful delivery, a man in a pickup truck arrived and became upset that his parking space was blocked, officials said.

According to authorities, the man allegedly got out of his truck and engaged in a verbal and physical altercation with the Amazon delivery driver.

The Amazon driver told officers he pulled a knife after he was punched in the face and stabbed the man in the chest area.

After the altercation, the man went into his residence and the Amazon driver called police, officials said.

Police said the resident was taken to Skyline Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

According to MNPD, detectives will discuss the matter with the District Attorney’s Office to determine if any charges will be filed.
