Man who shot near APD officer on separate call takes plea deal

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – An Albuquerque man who fired a gun near a police officer responding to a different call took a plea deal. In September 2023, an Albuquerque Police Department officer was interviewing someone near Utah and Chico in northeast Albuquerque when someone in a van opened fire. The driver, Kevin Morales-Molina, was arrested shortly after telling the officer he did fire a gun but denied shooting at police.
