Teen charged after cousin shot, killed at Nashville short-term rental property

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — A 15-year-old has been charged after a man was shot and killed during a gathering at a short-term rental property in Nashville Thursday night.

The shooting happened around 9:15 p.m. in the 900 block of Youngs Lane.

According to Metro police, Darrin Fleming, 15, was charged with criminal homicide in connection with the deadly shooting of his cousin, 31-year-old Barrington Moore. Fleming, who is on probation, was at the rental for another teenager’s birthday party.

Fleming’s mother reportedly called him and told him to be home by 8 p.m. to be in compliance with the terms of his probation.

Metro police reported Moore arrived to take Fleming home shortly after 9 p.m. and found him inside the property hiding in a closet.

The two fought and Fleming reportedly admitted he fired a pistol during the fight. Moore was taken to TriStar Skyline Medical Center where he died. Fleming was booked into the Metro juvenile detention facility.
