Man shot, killed by friend in Winter Garden, police say

WINTER GARDEN, Fla. - A man was shot and killed by his friend in Winter Garden on Friday, authorities said.

The Winter Garden Police Department identified the victim as 32-year-old Carlos Perez.  At around 1:30 a.m., police found him on the ground of Azalea Way, dead from a gunshot wound.

Savion Lambert, the 21-year-old suspect, was taken into custody on scene after a brief standoff with law enforcement.

Police believe Perez and Lambert were friends with one another, though a motive for the shooting remains unknown.
