Man who shot and killed Bronx basketball star to be sentenced

THE BRONX, N.Y. (PIX11) — The man found guilty of fatally shooting a 17-year-old rising basketball star Brandon Hendricks will be sentenced in court on Friday morning.

Nahjim Luke was found guilty of manslaughter and faces up to 25 years in prison.

The James Monroe High School graduate was out celebrating a friend’s birthday when he was killed. Hendricks was not the intended target as a stray bullet struck him in the neck.

Hendricks had just graduated from Metropolitan Soundview Charter School and received a full sports scholarship to a community college in California.
