Man shot, killed in Battle Creek apartment

BATTLE CREEK, Mich. (WOOD) — A man was shot and killed in an apartment in Battle Creek early Saturday morning.

Around 5:40 a.m., officers with the Battle Creek Police Department were sent to the Teal Run apartment complex, located at 5235 Horizon Dr. off of Glenn Cross Road, for a shooting.

Responding officers found a 21-year-old Battle Creek man with several apparent gunshot wounds in an apartment where he was staying. Life-saving measures were attempted, but he died at the scene.

It’s unclear what led to the shooting.

No suspect information has been released. BCPD does not believe the community is in danger.

The shooting remains under investigation.
