Man shot in the face, teen shot in the head in moving car in Queens: NYPD

QUEENS, N.Y. (PIX11) — A driver opened fire on two men in a car on a Queens street Thursday night, hitting one in the face and the other in the head, police said.

The gunman drove up and shot the victims, ages 20 and 18, while they were in the car heading east on Merrick Boulevard near 222nd Street and in Laurelton just before 10 p.m., according to the NYPD. The driver, 20, was shot in the face and leg and the teen was struck in the side of the head while sitting in the back seat, police said.

The men were taken to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries, authorities said.

The shooter then drove off in a sedan and was last seen heading south on 222nd Street, according to sources. There have been no arrests and the investigation is ongoing.
