Victim identified in deadly shooting at apartments in Baton Rouge

UPDATE: The Baton Rouge Police Department has identified the victim as Thomas Sneed, 54.

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – The Baton Rouge Police Department was called to a deadly shooting at the Sherwood Acres Apartments, 12757 Coursey Boulevard. It happened on Wednesday, March 6.

A little before 9 p.m., BRPD said they “received a call reporting multiple shots fired in the area.”

A deputy with the East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office was also alerted “to an unresponsive male between the buildings at the apartment complex,” according to the Baton Rouge Police Department.

The East Baton Rouge Coroner’s Office was observed at the scene. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

BRPD said they do not have a motive or suspect in this case. The investigation remains ongoing.
