Police say a man was transported to Regional One Hospital in critical condition. There is no suspect information available at this time.

Residents told WREG that the shooting happened on the sixth floor and that there were puddles of blood still on the floor.

“It’s getting closer and closer to me and that’s all I can say,” a resident said. “I don’t know who shot who or why but it’s disturbing when it’s in your own front yard.”

People living at Serenity Towers have dealt with many unfortunate circumstances. Earlier this month, many residents had to pay hundreds of dollars after their vehicles were towed overnight.

But one resident named Frida told WREG that she’s not leaving.

“This is my home. I’ve been here for seven years and when I first chose Serenity Towers, I chose it because of the name,” Frida said. “I figured it would be a place I could come and get some serenity and peace, and for a long time, it was. Until recently, that’s when all these affairs started happening so, I’m gonna stay right here and just see what happens as long as nothing happens to me personally.”
