Man stabbed Saturday night in Hampton

HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) — Police are investigating a stabbing in Hampton Saturday night.

According to police, officers were called to the 1300 block of Saxton Drive at 9:55 p.m. for the report of a stabbing. When officers arrived on scene, they found a 40-year-old man with stab wounds. Members of the Hampton Division of Fire and Rescue transported him to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.

After investigating, it was revealed the victim and suspect were engaged in a verbal dispute that turned physical. The suspect had a knife and cut the victim before fleeing on foot.

Detectives from the Major Crimes Unit are currently investigating this incident.
