Man sentenced to prison for 14 years for sex offense against a minor

WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS, WV (WVNS) — A Virginia man was sentenced to prison for a sex crime involving minors in Greenbrier County.

A man from Alleghany County, Virginia was sentenced to 14 years in prison, followed by 30 years of probation, for traveling across state lines to engage in illicit sexual conduct with a minor.

Man sentenced for failure to register as a sex offender

According to court documents, on May 9, 2023, 42-year-old Jon Pieter Vanbreemen, of Low Moor, Virginia traveled from Covington, Virginia to the White Sulphur Springs area of Greenbrier County, West Virginia.

Vanbreemen planned to engage in sexual acts with two minor girls when he was in Greenbrier County. Members of law enforcement arrested Vanbreemen when he arrived in White Sulphur Springs.
