The shooting occurred around 9 p.m. when Cunningham had just finished a basketball game. Bush, who was waiting for the next game, reportedly approached Cunningham. An argument ensued and Bush pulled out a gun.

Officers arrived and found Cunningham suffering from several gunshot wounds. He was transported to Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead just before 9:40 p.m.

Police believed Bush was one of two people who ran out of the back of the building. He was arrested two weeks later.
