Man scammed out of $100K by fake federal agents

BLOOMING GROVE TWP., PIKE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — State police report a man was scammed multiple times losing over $100,000 by men pretending to be federal agents.

According to Pennsylvania State Police, on March 26 a 68-year-old man from Hawley reported about a scam.

Drugs seized from Monroe County hotel room, three arrested

Police say between March 19-26 the victim was scammed on three occasions by three men pretending to be federal agents. The victim lost a total of $114,400 in cash.

The investigation is ongoing.
