Man pulled from ocean in North Myrtle Beach still had on hat and sunglasses, report says

NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW) — A man who was pulled from the ocean in North Myrtle Beach last week still had his hat and sunglasses on, according to a police report obtained by News13.

Timothy “Tim” Eanes, 55, of Axton, Virginia, died Thursday at a local hospital after being pulled from the ocean near 10th Avenue S. just before noon, the Horry County Coroner’s Office said.

A North Myrtle Beach officer responded for a swimmer in distress and saw Eanes face down in the water, the report said. He also had a large white patch attached to his neck.

The coroner’s office had an autopsy scheduled for Friday, the report said. News13 has reached out to the coroner’s office for more information on Eanes’ cause of death.
