Man from Navajo Nation sentenced for second-degree murder
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Isaiah Augustine Bob, a 39-year-old enrolled member of the Navajo Nation, has been sentenced to 15 years in prison for the murder of his friend. The murder occurred in 2020.
At the time, the friend – identified only as “John Doe” – invited Bob to stay at his home in Church Rock, New Mexico. In December of 2020, Bob beat John Doe to death following an argument, according to the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ).

Later, in 2023, Bob pled guilty to second degree murder in Indian Country. At a recent sentencing, a federal judge adjusted Bob’s sentence upwards because John Doe was particularly vulnerable to the attack.
Now, Bob will serve 15 years in prison. He will then be subject to five years of supervised release.
