There is no CEO employees would rather work for than Mark Zuckerberg, a new study finds.
The Facebook founder and CEO tops this year's "Highest Rated CEOs" from online career community Glassdoor. The rankings are based entirely on employee reviews over the past 12 months.
In the last year, Zuckerberg saw his CEO approval rating climb 14 percentage points to a 99 percent approval.
"An open community from Zuck on down," commented one Facebook employee who works in the company's Menlo Park, Calif. headquarters. "Mutual trust companywide and sense of community and drive, instilled by our CEO, who we all truly respect."
Other CEO's rounding out the top 10 are, in order:
Bill McDermott and Jim Hagemann Snabe – SAP (co-CEOs)
Dominic Barton – McKinsey & Company
Jim Turley – Ernst & Young
John E. Schlifske – Northwestern Mutual
Frank D'Souza – Cognizant Technology Solutions
Joe Tucci – EMC
Paul E. Jacobs – Qualcomm
Richard K. Davis – U.S. Bank
Pierre Nanterme – Accenture
Robert Hohman, Glassdoor CEO and co-founder, said that while anyone can assume a position of leadership, not all leaders can garner employee support for how they lead the company.
"The CEOs who are most successful in gaining employee approval are those who paint a clear vision of what the company is setting out to achieve and how it's going to get there," Hohman said. "To be recognized by your employees as a strong leader also comes as a result of having a solid company culture that helps employees foster the skills necessary to move business forward and meet the needs of customers."
This year's rankings include 17 CEOs who made last year's list, including Apple's Tim Cook, who took top honors in 2012, but dropped to 18th in the current rankings.
Other CEOs who earned high approval ratings from employees two years in a row include Starbucks CEO Howard D. Schultz, Goldman Sachs CEO Lloyd C. Blankfein and Nordstrom CEO Blake W. Nordstrom. Leaders new to this list include Chick-fil-A CEO S. Truett Cathy, Dell CEO Michael S. Dell and Victoria’s Secret CEO Sharen Turney, the only woman on this year's report.
