Man killed by train in Wash. was Vegas musician

SEATTLE (AP) — A man who was killed by an Amtrak train over the weekend in the Seattle suburb of Auburn has been identified as a musician at a show on the Las Vegas Strip.

King County coroner's officials confirmed 43-year-old John Jeffrey Ray was the man struck by the train while posing for a photograph Saturday afternoon.

Ray was a guitarist in the cast of Jersey Boys, a Broadway show that plays at Las Vegas' Paris casino. Show producers issued a statement calling Ray an invaluable part of the company and saying the entire cast is deeply saddened by the loss.

Ray performed a variety of other shows and taught jazz guitar performance at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.

Authorities say the woman taking pictures when Ray was struck was not hurt.
