Man killed in shooting at Kemper Street Apartments in Lynchburg

LYNCHBURG, Va. (WFXR) — Police in Lynchburg are working to learn what led to a deadly shooting at the Kemper Street Apartments on May 8.

The Lynchburg Police Department says just before 8 p.m. on Wednesday, officers responded to the 1400 block of Kempter Street for a malicious wounding.

At the scene, responding officers learned that a man later identified as 23-year-old Bolden Jared Eubanks, of Lynchburg, was taken to the Lynchburg General Hospital.

Lynchburg police then learned Eubanks died from his injuries.

LPD said 43-year-old Deshanta Olisha Marshall, of Lynchburg, was arrested shortly after and charged with:

  • 2nd-degree murder

  • Use of Firearm in Commission of a Felony

  • Felony Child Endangerment

Marshall is being held without bond at the Blue Ridge Regional Jail.

This is an active investigation.
