Man killed in motorcycle crash that closed Capital Boulevard in Raleigh on Tuesday

A young man was killed Tuesday morning when he lost control of his motorcycle on Capital Boulevard just north of downtown Raleigh, according to police.

Police say Curtis Lee Mcduffie was headed north on Capital Boulevard near Wake Forest Road when he lost control. Mcduffie, 21, was ejected from his Yamaha MT07 motorcycle as it slid off the road and hit a tree, police said.

Police say it appears Mcduffie was riding at a “high rate of speed” when he lost control, but they say their investigation of the crash is not complete.

The crash took place about 6:50 a.m. Northbound Capital Boulevard was closed for several hours afterward.
