Man jailed on abuse of corpse, murder charges after woman found dead in Zionsville yard

The discovery of a woman’s body outside her Zionsville home has sparked a homicide investigation into her death and led to the arrest of a man on a preliminary murder charge, according to police.

Monday, Zionsville police officers were called about 11:30 a.m. to the 5300 block of West Old 106th Street to conduct a welfare check on a woman. After not receiving an answer at the door, officers checked the grounds, a news release from Zionsville police stated. Police found the woman’s body on the south side of the home’s property.

The Boone County Coroner’s Office ruled the woman’s death a homicide but has not identified her or released her cause of death as of Wednesday morning.

Police arrested Graham Bixler, 30, in the case. He’s booked in Boone County Jail on preliminary charges of murder and abuse of a corpse. No other suspects are at large, police said.

Detectives are investigating and conducting interviews, according to the news release.

A final charging decision has not yet been made.
