Man injured after shooting in Roanoke, no suspects

ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) — The Roanoke Police Department (RPD) has opened an investigation after a man was shot early Tuesday morning.

Police said around 2 a.m. on May 14, officers were notified by the City of Roanoke’s E-911 center about a person with a gunshot wound in the 2900 block of Ravenwood Avenue NW.

Once at the scene, officers found a man outside a home with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.

Roanoke Fire-EMS rushed the victim to the hospital for treatment.

RPD says officers did not find any evidence of a shooting at the scene.

Due to the lack of information, detectives have few leads to follow and a suspect has not been arrested, at this time.

The shooting remains under investigation. Police are encouraging anyone with information to call 540-344-8500. Anonymous texts can also be sent to 274637, with the message beginning with “RoanokePD.”
