Man injured in crash on U.S. 101 in Olympia Sunday morning. Here’s what happened

The Washington State Patrol reports that a medical emergency caused a crash in Olympia Sunday morning.

About 8:50 a.m., a 74-year-old Oakville man was headed north on U.S. Highway 101 near Black Lake Boulevard.

Troopers say he suffered a medical emergency, then drove off the road to the right, bounced off a guardrail, crossed back across all northbound lanes, crashed into a cable barrier and then came to a stop on the left shoulder.

The man was taken to Providence St. Peter Hospital in Olympia, according to State Patrol.
