Man hit straphanger in the head with beer bottle in NYC subway station: NYPD

NEW YORK (PIX11) — A man hit a straphanger in the face with a glass beer bottle in a Manhattan subway station Wednesday night, police said.

The suspect attacked the 44-year-old man while he was standing on the platform of the A and C lines in the Columbus Circle subway station at around 10:10 p.m., according to the NYPD. The suspect asked the man for $1 and ripped open the victim’s plastic bag, police said.

The perpetrator then hit the man in the forehead with a glass beer bottle, cutting his forehead, authorities said. The victim was taken to the hospital for treatment.

The suspect ran out of the subway station and remained at large, as of Thursday morning, police said.
