Arrest made after road rage leads to stabbing near St. Pete elementary school: Police

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - A man faces an attempted murder charge after St. Petersburg police say he stabbed another man "numerous times" during a road rage incident.

Police say the argument began with both men getting out of their cars just after 3 p.m. Tuesday at 54th Avenue North and 19th Street North. Minutes later, the victim arrived at Sexton Elementary School to pick up a child and to ask for help with serious injuries.

Paramedics took the victim to the hospital, where he is listed in serious but stable condition as of Tuesday night.

According to officials, Jose Oneill, 34, took off from the scene and was later arrested after contacting police.

All students and teachers are safe and there was no school lockdown, according to SPPD.
