Man found after search on Blackwater River

OKALOOSA COUNTY, Fla. (WKRG) — Deputies with the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office say they helped find a man who was stranded on the Blackwater River Saturday night.

A Facebook Post from the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office says Alpha North deputies and members of the Munson Fire Department out of Santa Rosa County searched over a mile through the river Saturday night.

A man’s canoe overturned and sank, leaving him in a remote area of the river. He was found unharmed. The deputies say teamwork led to a successful outcome Saturday night. The post does not specify exactly where the man was found or when the search started Saturday.
