Man found guilty of shooting, killing friend in Prince George’s County

PRINCE GEORGE’S COUNTY, Md. (DC News Now) — A jury in Prince George’s County found a man guilty on Wednesday of shooting and killing his friend in 2023.

On May 13, 2023, 31-year-old JC Littlejohn III went to 29-year-old Dante Kenneth Williams’s home in the 6100 block of Blacksmith Drive in District Heights. The Office of the State’s Attorney said Littlejohn immediately started attacking Williams and demanded money he claimed he was owed.

Littlejohn pulled out a handgun and shot Williams before fleeing the scene.

He was identified by a witness and arrested while still in possession of the gun.

“This is a sad case and preventable because it didn’t have to escalate and end with the death of Mr. Williams,” said State’s Attorney Aisha Braveboy. “Ultimately, we secured justice for this victim and Mr. Littlejohn will be held accountable for his actions. I want to thank Assistant State’s Attorney Daniel Kim for his hard work on this case and dedication to seeking justice for our victims.”

Littlejohn was found guilty on the charges of second-degree murder, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony and possession of a regulated firearm by a person with a disqualifying conviction.

His sentencing is scheduled for June 7, 2024.
