Man found dead inside Monroe County home

HAMILTON TWP., MONROE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — State police report a man was found dead inside a Monroe County home after a fire.

According to Pennsylvania State Police, early Thursday morning around 2:00 a.m., troopers were called to a house fire on North Easton Belmont Pike in Hamilton Township.

Troopers said they arrived on the scene where a home was engulfed in flames and they could hear yelling from inside the residence.

Two injured in Northumberland County shooting

Crews say they were able to pull a woman out of the home, however, after the fire was extinguished a man was found dead inside the house.

The woman was taken to Lehigh Valley Regional Burn Center. Responding troopers also sustained minor injuries and received treatment at St. Luke’s Monroe Campus.

The investigation is ongoing.
