A 26-year-old man was fatally wounded Friday night in a drive-by shooting that left another man seriously wounded in the Roseland neighborhood on the Far South Side, police said.

Shortly after 10:30 p.m., officers responded to a call of a person shot in the first block of East 110th Street and found a 26-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the torso. He was taken to UChicago Medicine where he was pronounced dead, police said.

A 37-year-old man suffered a wound to the neck and was taken in critical condition to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn.

A preliminary investigation revealed a gunman in a silver SUV opened fire in the victims’ direction striking them both. No one was in custody and detectives were investigating.
