Man dies hours after being shot in Over-the-Rhine

A man is dead after a shooting in Over-the-Rhine Tuesday afternoon, officials said.

Cincinnati police officers received a call around noon reporting a person had been shot near the 1700 block of Republic Street.

Officers arrived at the scene to find a 28-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound, police said in a press release. He was taken to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center in critical condition.

Police reported at 4:19 p.m. that the man died from his injuries. He was identified as Ramond Bean by the Hamilton County Coroner's Office on Wednesday.

Officials have not offered any information about a possible suspect.

The investigation by the Cincinnati Police Department's homicide unit is ongoing. Witnesses are urged to contact investigators at 513-352-3542.
