Man dies after hit-and-run crash in Rochester

A pedestrian who was seriously wounded in a hit-and-run crash on East Main Street in Rochester has died from his injuries, Rochester police confirmed on Friday.

The pedestrian - a 22-year-old man - died from his injuries at Strong Memorial Hospital on Wednesday evening, one day after the crash, said Lt. Greg Bello of the Rochester Police Department. The man's name was not released.

Police this week said that it appeared that a vehicle struck the pedestrian on East Main Street, near Scio Street, around 3:45 a.m. Tuesday and the driver fled the scene in the involved vehicle.

Police continue to investigate the crash and ask that anyone with information call 911.
