Arvin man dies after colliding with telephone pole near Lamont

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — An Arvin man is dead after colliding with a wooden telephone pole on Tejon Highway, east of Lamont Wednesday night.

CHP officers responded to the crash on Tejon Highway, just north of Panama Lane at 11:09 p.m. Officials said Hector Hernandez-Hernandez, 31, was traveling southbound on Tejon Highway when, for an unknown reason, his vehicle left the roadway and struck a wooden telephone pole on the west dirt shoulder.

Jury acquits woman of attempted murder, deadlocks on other charges

The crash caused the Honda to overturn and land on its roof in the intersection. Hernandez was pronounced dead at the scene, according to CHP.

Officers said alcohol appears to be a factor in the crash and remains under investigation.
