A 27-year-old man was killed in a car crash in Montreal's Plateau Mont-Royal borough early Sunday morning.

Montreal police received a 911 call about the collision at about 4:30 a.m. Sunday.

Sabrina Gauthier, a spokesperson for the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal, said the victim was driving southbound on Parc Avenue near Duluth Avenue when his car hit the one in front of him, slammed into a lamp post and flipped over on the northbound side of the street.

The other motorist was not injured, Gauthier said.

Police have set up a perimeter, and investigators are at the scene.

Parc Avenue is closed between Pine and Mont Royal Avenues.
