Man dead after shooting in Belmont Cragin

CHICAGO — A man is dead after he was shot Monday evening in Chicago’s Belmont Cragin neighborhood.

The shooting happened just before 6 p.m. in the 5600 block of West Diversey.

According to information from the Chicago Police Department, the man was outside near a sidewalk when he was approached by an unknown person who shot him multiple times.

The man, 32, was taken to Illinois Masonic Hospital where he died.

No one has been arrested yet in connection with the incident.

Detectives are investigating and anyone with information should call them.
