Man dead after being run over by vehicle in central Fresno

FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – A man has died after he was run over by a woman driving a red vehicle after some type of disturbance in Fresno, according to the Fresno Police Department.

Police say they responded to a 911 call of a disturbance at the shopping center near Blackstone and Dakota Avenues around 10:22 a.m.

Investigators say the man was in his late 50s and suffered some type of accident as a result of the altercation that occurred in the vehicle.

Police say officers arrived within minutes and located a victim with moderate to major injuries sustained as a result of being run over by a vehicle. The individual was transported to a local hospital where he later died.

According to police, the driver was described only as a woman in a red vehicle who fled the scene eastbound on Dakota Avenue. Investigators say it is unknown if the victim was intentionally run over.

It is an ongoing investigation.
